I Didn’t Mean to Start a Real Estate Blog…
But Here We Are
Let’s get one thing straight: I never meant to start a real estate blog.
I wasn’t sitting around in my RV (fully air-conditioned, thank you very much), sipping my third iced coffee of the day, thinking, “You know what the internet needs? More housing advice.” No. I was just trying to survive another day of wifeing, being a mom of three daughters, five dogs, two cats and an inbox full of “urgent” school emails that somehow all involve fundraising.
I’m a born-and-raised Texan who has all 4 seasons of clothing in my closet at all times (if you know, you know) and knows the good tacos are always found at a local hole-in-the-wall restaurant. My life is a beautiful chaos of mascara-streaked grocery runs, camping trips where I refuse to pee outside, and caffeine-induced brilliance. And somewhere between the parent-teacher meetings and dog hair tumbleweeds, I started helping people buy and sell homes.
And here’s what I learned fast:
Everyone thinks they can do real estate on their own.
Now listen, I’m not judging. I get it. We’re in the age of YouTube university and “don’t tell me what to do” energy. And you know what? A lot of people can sell their home or buy their dream place without a Realtor. It’s not illegal. No one’s going to tackle you mid-open house. And for some of you—bless your Google spreadsheet hearts—you’ll be just fine.
But also?
A lot of you are out here Googling terms like “What even IS escrow?” while trying to list your home for sale with an iPhone camera and some half-dead mums on the porch.
I see you. I was you. And that’s why Unrealtored was born.
